Why Is It Called An Inch? [Solved]
Well, the inch has been around for a while! It comes from Old English ince, or ynce, which was based on the Latin unit uncia. That was “one-twelfth” of a Roman foot. So that’s where the ounce got its name too. Pretty cool, huh?
