Why Is Gif Pronounced Jif? [Solved]
In June 1987, Steve Wilhite released the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) while working for Compuserve. He pronounced it with a soft g, saying “Choosy developers choose JIF,” which was a clever play on the peanut butter brand’s slogan “Choosy mothers choose Jif.”
