When it comes to writing scales, you never want to use the same letter twice. Take C# Mixolydian for instance - it’s got an E# and F#. That means the “F” note is actually an E#. Same goes for F# Major and F# Harmonic Minor - they both have a major 7th scale degree, which is known as E#.
