Why A Mile Is 5,280 Feet? [Solved]
Wow, that’s really interesting! The statute mile we use today is based on the Roman mille passus, which was 5,000 feet. Basically, it was measured by counting the number of steps it took to cover that distance - one step equaled five Roman feet. Crazy!
